Letter to my "fiance"
I DO NOT WANT A DIAMOND RING! Now why should I have to tell my "fiance" what kind of ring to get me, well the reason for that is people are very easily influenced by outside forces when confused. I don't expect you to be bumbling and completely clueless about what I want, but I do expect you not be sure about the kind of ring to get. Now if you are wanting to propose to me that means that we have known each other and been together for awhile and you haven't ran away screaming to the hills. Now as I write this I'm only 19, and who knows if I'll ever meet you or if you even exist. But if you do exist and you happen upon this letter and my blog as a whole I want you to know from me that I don't want a run of the mill diamond ring. I want something that tells me you know me and something special. I don't consider myself a diamond ring girl. I love color and I like actual gem stones, while a diamond is fine and dandy, I want something that's let me know you know me. A sapphire, emerald, or even a black onyx ring would be perfect for me. Those stones are different and those stones let me know that you actually care about what I like. If you get a basic diamond ring on a band I'm going to be a little disappointed because that lets me know you A) didn't listen to me whenever I would talk about what I enjoy or want and B), which is the most likely to happen one, you didn't read my letter to you. But hey you get me diamond engagement ring we'll just go to the jewelers together and pick out a one that I can enjoy and your wallet and tolerate. Because no one should spend more than one paycheck on engagement ring. Like if you want me to marry you, that means you know I love you and not your wallet and the money we save we could put towards the honeymoon or something more lasting, a house.
